The Kiama Power are thrilled to announce the signing of Maddison Aitkin from the UTS Bats, further adding to what could potentially be one of the best midfield groups in the AFL South Coast women’s competition this season.
Aitkin recently represented the Royal Australian Navy at the Australian Defence Force games in Melbourne, having also been twice selected in the ADF All Star team.
Maddison joins us after playing a full season of AFL Sydney Premier Division with the UTS Bats in 2024, continuing her form from the previous season in Victoria which saw her named as Cerberus’ Best & Fairest player in a premiership-winning team and was also named in the South Eastern Women’s League’s team of the year.
Aitkin played a starring role in the Power’s huge pre-season win last Saturday in Queanbeyan, noting how comfortable she felt pulling on the Power guernsey for the first time.
“The team was extremely welcoming and the vibe around the club is incredible,” Maddison said after the game.
